  • Day of Caring

    223 volunteers from twenty-six companies volunteered their time and energy for a fun day of meaningful, hands-on projects at fifteen non-profit agencies throughout the county. Volunteers completed seventy-nine projects and contributed over 1,600 hours of service with a cash value of $27,500.

  • Rapid Response Team Member

    Working in collaboration with state labor representatives and other local groups to assist laid off employees make the transition after job loss. United Way often serves as fiscal agent for state funding provided to local transition teams that are established for employees who are dislocated. Workplaces assisted include Mount Airy Lodge, Cooper Power Systems, Cadmus Mack Printing, Liz Claiborne, Ames, Shawnee Press, and United Steel Products.

  • In-Kind Gifts

    United Way helps local retailers and businesses redistribute surplus products to local shelters and pantries throughout the county.

  • Youth Allocations Panel

    Empowering high school students from Monroe County school districts to oversee and make decisions about the distribution of funds to programs that involve or positively impact youth.

  • Management Assistance

    United Way of Monroe County works with non-profits that need knowledgeable guidance to improve or establish operations.

  • Community Initiatives

    Grants made throughout the year to help move a human care project or program forward with attention to leveraging additional funding.
