Sampling of Program Outcomes

  • 159 clients of the Home Delivered Meals program, funded by the United Way, received 66.7% of the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of nutrients in two meals per day per week with some clients receiving them seven days per week. This allows them to maintain or improve their level of health while living in the least costly and least restrictive environment.
  • Thirteen families that participated in the Transitional Housing program, funded by the United Way, moved into their own home.
  • The Shelter program for victims of sexual assault and/or domestic violence, funded by the United Way, provided sixty-six adults and sixty-four children with 2,744 days of shelter.
  • Out of 81 children who participated in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, funded by the United Way, 92% showed moderate to significant gains in increased self-confidence.
  • Out of 629 students referred to the Student Assistance program , funded by the United Way, 620 unduplicated students completed the school year without further disciplinary incidents.
  • 100% of the 165 children enrolled in the Headstart program, funded by the United Way, for at least six months, including children with disabilities, had their medical, behavior, dental health, and nutrition needs identified and 100% received follow up care.
  • Out of eighty-four children in the Early Intervention program, funded by the United Way, twenty-nine children with developmental delays reduced or eliminated the need for special education in the school setting and were discharged from the program no longer in need of specialized services.
  • Out of the fifty-two parents who completed the Parenting Wisely program, funded by United Way, forty-four (85%) demonstrated a gain in knowledge regarding effective parenting strategies.
  • 100% of families who enrolled in the Working Parent program, funded by United Way, remained gainfully employed for at least six months. 90% of the families enrolled employed one year or longer.
  • Eight developmentally disabled individuals that participated in the Community Partners in Recycling program, funded by the United Way, have maintained employment for over three years.
  • Out of 50 clients who received services from by the Visual Impairment and Blindness Services program, 90% demonstrated the ability to live independently through training with visual aids, adaptive technology, rehabilitation teaching and casework services.
